Work package #3: How to Understand and Practise Civic Responsibility in Holocaust Education

Work package #3 analyses and developes ways to address civic involvement in the Nazi system, drawing on participant-centered learning processes. In that perspective, the work package researches our own programs and methods in a reflective manner. Drawing on social-science methodological approaches such as participatory observations, the work package looks closely into how educators try to create relevance for the participants of our programs and what kind of challenges they meet in participant centered learning encounters. The formats explored include, amongst other, biographical case studies, site-based education, video testimony, exhibition related workshops, online activities and participatory art practices. This work package will document its own process and provide improved methods and suggestions for new formats, including according guidelines.
