Panel 2
In this panel we will discuss methods of and approaches to participant-centered learning about civic responsibility, dealing with the Nazi past and its crimes, which happened in the midst of our societies. We will do so by modeling and reflecting on examples from three different contexts: The Kraków Ghetto, the Holocaust in Slovakia, and the T4 mass murder in Hartheim castle, Austria. The practice-based insights and learning experiments will be provided by Matej Beranek (EDAH, Slovakia), Bartosz Duszyński (Galicia Jewish Museum Krakow), and Wolfgang Schmutz (guide team Hartheim Castle). The panel will be hosted by Paul Salmons.
