Labour camp (“the first Sereď”) in Slovakia
The member of Hlinka´s Guard standing in front of the gate of the Sereď Labour Camp. Hlinka´s Guard were responsible for labour camps and centers in Slovakia. The camp was established at the end of September 1941 and served firstly as a labour camp for Jews expelled from civic and economic life. From 1942 served also as a transit camp and the deportation took place from here. Since Slovak National Uprising was a camp organized by SS Units. Second wave of deportation took place from this camp.
